The large, two-storey house, built in Flamboyant Gothic style of brick with stone dressings, is of irregular plan, with the entrance front to the south and the long garden front to the east. On 14 January 1970, George Harrison purchased a new home: Friar Park, a sprawling, whimsical and derelict estate in Henley-on-Thames. It would become his main home for the rest of his life, and still remains the Harrison family's home today. Built in the 1870s by Sir Frank Crisp, Friar Park was subsequently owned by Sir Percival David (from 1919-1951), and the nuns of St. John Bosco (from 1951 Friar Park Friar Park is an approximately 30-room Victorian neo-Gothic mansion in Henley-on-Thames, England, built in 1889.It was originally owned by eccentric lawyer Sir Frank Crisp and purchased in January 1970 by musician George Harrison.
